Valve promotes WeSave! Charity Play event within Dota 2 client.

Valve Features WePlay’s WeSave! Charity Play Tournament in Dota 2 Client

Unlike most non-Valve sponsored events, WePlay!’s WeSave! Charity Play tournament is now directly featured in the Dota 2 client. This move by Valve aims to promote the matches and attract more people to support the event. It provides additional avenues for players to discover and watch the charity tournament.

Easier Access and Improved Viewing Experience

The tournament is now slotted into the featured window of the Dota 2 client, alongside the panels for top spectated games, Patch 7.25 details, and the Treasure of the Fallen Cinder item collection. By clicking on the tournament link, viewers can watch the matches within the Dota 2 client, eliminating the need to tune into WePlay!’s Twitch channel.

Some players encounter difficulties when watching matches on Twitch, such as high latency and buffering that affects the stream’s performance. Watching competitive games directly in the game’s client provides a more appealing option. Within the client, viewers have more control over settings and can optimize performance based on their internet connection, resulting in a smoother viewing experience for those who want to keep up with tournaments.

However, there have been reports that some matches are not working within the client. Valve and WePlay! are aware of the issue and are working to fix it for future matches. WePlay! is also exploring the possibility of streaming the matches on another platform, such as YouTube, to provide an alternative option for fans unable to watch on Twitch.
