EG CEO confirms Danny’s absence in 2023, hints at 2 new additions to League roster

Evil Geniuses Announces Changes to its League of Legends Team for 2023

Evil Geniuses (EG) CEO Nicole LaPointe Jameson has confirmed that Kyle “Danny” Sakamaki will not be the team’s starting AD carry for the 2023 season. Danny took a break from professional League of Legends to focus on his mental health and has not played competitively since the 2022 LCS Summer Split playoffs.

A Potential Replacement for Danny

Although Danny will remain on the EG roster as a backup player, the team is reportedly in talks to sign former 100 Thieves ADC Victor “FBI” Huang. LaPointe Jameson hinted at this potential signing in a tweet, suggesting that EG fans should be ready for something big next year.

In that same tweet, LaPointe Jameson capitalized the words “Fans,” “Because,” and “Incoming,” which spelled out “FBI,” further fueling speculation about the potential signing of FBI. Additionally, the misspelling of the word “something” with two “S”s and a “U” indicates a possible signing of former 100 Thieves top laner Ssumday.

Welcome FBI to Evil Geniuses

Following LaPointe Jameson’s hints, EG officially welcomed FBI to the team, confirming earlier reports. This signing marks a significant addition to the 2023 LCS roster for EG.

The Rest of the Roster

EG is expected to retain its jungle-mid-support trio of Inspired, Jojopyun, and Vulcan, all of whom were named in the LCS’ first All-Pro team this summer. However, the team decided not to re-sign its veteran top laner Impact, who became an unrestricted free agent.

Update Nov. 23 5:22pm CT: Minutes after LaPointe Jameson hinted at FBI’s arrival, EG officially announced his signing for the 2023 LCS season.
