Hanwha Life secures a superstar player for the upcoming 2023 LCK season

Hanwha Life Esports confirms return of ‘Viper’ for 2023 season

Hanwha Life Esports has made some major moves behind the scenes, including parting ways with its 2022 roster. Only top laner Lee “DuDu” Dong-ju remains on the team.

Rumors have been circulating about potential additions to the team for the 2023 season. Hanwha Life has now confirmed these rumors with a YouTube announcement video.

Check out the announcement here.

Former EDward Gaming bot laner Park “Viper” Do-hyeon will make his return to the LCK after spending two years in the Chinese league. Viper last competed internationally during the 2022 League of Legends World Championship, where he reached the quarterfinals with EDG before being reverse swept by DRX.

Hanwha Life welcomed Viper’s return, stating, “We are happy to announce that ‘Viper’ has joined HLE once again. We warmly welcome bot laner ‘Viper’, who has won the world championship and has excellent aggression. Please look forward to the new story of HLE that will unfold together with HLE ‘Viper’ in the following season.”

Viper is considered one of the best marksmen in the world and was in high demand during the offseason. Rumor had it that he would stay with EDG, but his signing with Hanwha Life has given the team an impressive roster. Additionally, former EDward Gaming mid laner Lee “Scout” Ye-chan is rumored to be joining the team, although this has not been confirmed.

Viper’s return to the LCK is expected to raise the level of competition in Korea. With teams still finalizing their rosters and DRX’s Worlds players becoming free agents, this offseason is shaping up to be the most exciting in recent history.
