Spica, a veteran TSM jungler, is said to have secured a new team for the 2023 LCS season.

FlyQuest Signs Former TSM Jungler Spica for 2023 Season

According to a report from independent League of Legends journalist Brieuc Seeger, former TSM jungler Spica has verbally agreed to join FlyQuest for the 2023 season. Spica, who has been with TSM since 2019, was released by the organization earlier this year.

Spica’s contract was originally set to expire at the end of the 2022 season, but TSM granted him an outright release in September, allowing him the freedom to explore the free agency market. Now, it seems he will be joining FlyQuest, a team that has been stuck in the middle of the LCS standings for the past two seasons.

FlyQuest’s Efforts to Rebuild

After reaching back-to-back LCS finals and representing North America at the World Championship in 2020, FlyQuest has struggled to match that success in recent years. However, their acquisition of former 100 Thieves general manager Chris “PapaSmithy” Smith as the new president signals a commitment to turning the team around. In addition, FlyQuest has reportedly also agreed to pick up veteran top laner Impact, who was released by Evil Geniuses yesterday.

Remaining Roster and Potential Signings

The rest of FlyQuest’s 2023 roster is still uncertain, with positions in the mid lane and ADC yet to be filled. They will also be losing their breakout mid laner Toucouille, who will be returning to his home region of the LFL next season. FlyQuest has reportedly shown interest in T1 mid laner Faker, who is entering unrestricted free agency today.

As for Spica, he will be replacing FlyQuest’s previous jungler Josedeodo, who was given the opportunity to explore other options earlier this month.

The official announcements of player signings and roster moves will be made as most players’ contracts expire today.
