Latest Updates on DWG KIA LCK Roster: Speculations, Transfers, and More

DWG KIA Looks to Rebuild Roster for 2023 Season

DWG KIA, one of the most successful and consistent teams in League of Legends, is facing a decline in results both domestically and internationally. Despite consistently placing in the top four of the LCK, they have struggled to match the performance of top-tier teams like Gen.G and T1. As a result, the organization is making major changes to its roster, with several departures already announced.

Departures

DWG KIA recently parted ways with two top laners, Nuguri and Burdol, leaving the team in need of a replacement for the upcoming season. Nuguri, a former world champion, had a disappointing season and did not regain his previous dominance. Burdol, on the other hand, did not have the opportunity to grow and improve. The team has also released three members of its coaching staff: athletic director kkOma, head coach Daeny, and coach Zefa.

Additionally, ADC deokdam has left the team after a decent season, raising questions about who will fill the role in the future.

Search for New Talent

DWG KIA now has two vacant positions and is in search of a new coaching staff. While there haven’t been any rumors about specific candidates yet, the team is likely looking for top-tier players to strengthen its roster. Potential options for the top lane include Kwangdong Freecs’ Kiin, known for his exceptional mechanics and laning phase. Ruler, who recently left Gen.G, could be a potential addition to DWG KIA’s ADC role if he has aspirations of winning another world championship.

Core Players for 2023

Despite the changes, DWG KIA’s core players Canyon and ShowMaker will remain with the team. Canyon, considered one of the best junglers in the world, had an impressive performance at Worlds. ShowMaker, while not as dominant as before, is still a solid player in the LCK. The synergy between these two players will be crucial for the team’s success in 2023.

Kellin, the team’s support player, is also likely to stay on the roster for the upcoming season.

Overall, DWG KIA has the opportunity to build a strong roster for 2023 with the potential talent available in the offseason. However, finalizing the roster may take some time.
