EG player Danny ties 2022 single-game kill record in spring playoff loss to Liquid

Danny Sets Record for Most Kills in a Single Game in 2022 LCS Spring Split Playoffs

Evil Geniuses’ AD carry, Danny, achieved a remarkable feat in yesterday’s opening round of the 2022 LCS Spring Split playoffs. In the team’s game four victory over Team Liquid, Danny tied the record for the most kills in a single game by a major region League of Legends player this season. Playing as Ezreal, Danny secured a total of 16 kills, matching the record set by an LCS, LEC, LCK, or LPL player this season, as reported by League stats site Games of Legends.

Despite the loss in the 3-2 match, Danny’s standout performance in the penultimate game of the series serves as a positive for the team as they prep for their lower bracket run.

The remarkable achievement caught the attention of the League of Legends community. Check out the tweet below:

According to Games of Legends, the only other players to achieve 16 kills in a single game this season are Misfits mid laner, Vetheo, and Ultra Prime AD carry, Elk. Danny’s 16-kill performance against Team Liquid surpasses the previous 2022 LCS record of 14 kills held by 100 Thieves’ Abbedagge. It is also worth noting that this is the highest kill count achieved by any LCS player since Dignitas’ Neo recorded 17 kills against EG in a Spring Split game last year.

Over the course of the five-game series, Danny amassed an impressive scoreline of 25/11/28. This means that more than 60 percent of his total kills on the day were accumulated in game four alone. His 25 kills were the highest among all the players in yesterday’s match.

Following their loss, Danny and Evil Geniuses find themselves in the lower bracket of the 2022 LCS Spring Split playoffs. They will face off against FlyQuest, the fifth seed, in a must-win match scheduled for April 10.
