Dota Summit 12 Adds Variety to March 10 DPC Calendar

DOTA Summit 12 Confirmed for March 10-13

March is shaping up to be a busy month for Dota 2 players and fans. Beyond The Summit has officially announced that Dota Summit 12 will take place from March 10 to 13.

This is quite unusual, as the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season Three and ESL One Los Angeles Major, two Dota Pro Circuit events, are also happening this month.

With such short notice, there may be some conflicts in terms of available talent. Many of the Major competitors already in Los Angeles could choose to attend, as well as teams like Nigma, who didn’t qualify for this round of DPC events.

Considering the $150,000 prize pool and the opportunity for prime time viewership, there will be no shortage of teams interested in competing in this event.

The big question is whether the teams participating in the Major will see Dota Summit 12 as a better opportunity for practice than a pre-event bootcamp. While they won’t be able to practice strategies in secret, they will face higher level competition than just ranked stacking.

Teams like OG Seed, TNC Predator, Nigma, and Team Liquid, who missed out on the Major and Minor, could potentially attend Dota Summit 12. While Nigma is the least likely, anything is possible if the Major teams opt out.

In the coming week, we can expect the full list of six participating teams and details about the group stage format. Matches will begin on March 10 and conclude on March 13, just two days before the Major starts.
