Dignitas adds former back-to-back LCS finalist, enhancing their roster

Dignitas Building a Contender in the LCS Offseason with IgNar Signing

The offseason in professional League of Legends is always exciting, and this year is no exception. Dignitas, a surprise LCS organization, is making waves by building a strong team seemingly out of nowhere.

According to League of Legends esports reporter Brieuc Seeger, Dignitas has reached a verbal agreement with IgNar, the former support player for Immortals and FlyQuest. You can find more information on their Twitter here.

Big Name Signings for Dignitas

Dignitas has been considered a mediocre team since their return to the LCS in 2020. However, they are determined to change that perception in the upcoming season. They have been securing top-tier players to join their roster in 2023.

Armut, the former top laner for MAD Lions and two-time LEC champion, is rumored to have also reached a verbal agreement with Dignitas. Additionally, Santorin from Team Liquid and Jensen from Cloud9 have been linked to the organization as well.

International Ambitions and Struggles

Dignitas has a long history in esports, competing since 2011 and even participating in Worlds in 2012. However, they have struggled to reach major international tournaments since then. Despite being relegated from the LCS in 2016, they returned the following year. Since becoming a franchised team in 2020, their best finish was fifth place in the spring of 2021, and they have a winless record of 0-9 in three playoff appearances.

IgNar’s Journey and Achievements

IgNar’s career has been full of ups and downs. He became famous for his Blitzcrank pick with Misfits Gaming in the 2017 Worlds quarterfinals, where they almost upset SK Telecom T1 and Faker. After a stint with bbq Olivers in the LCK, he had a solid year with FC Schalke 04 Esports in the LEC. In 2020, he joined FlyQuest and reached consecutive LCS finals, followed by a decent performance at Worlds. In 2021, he played for Evil Geniuses and made a strong impact on the LCS. After taking a break in spring 2022, he signed with Immortals for the Summer Split.

This new roster is definitely promising for Dignitas, and fans are eager to see if they can finally break through and achieve success in the upcoming season.
