Comparison between the Old and New Versions of Rod of Ages

The main difference between the old and new versions of Rod of Ages is the classification of the item. The new version is now classified as a Mythic item, which has increased its cost to 3200 gold. The stats of the item have remained similar, with the new version granting 400 mana instead of 300. The build path is also slightly adjusted.

In terms of the item’s passive, there is a minor tweak to emphasize its late-game scaling. When reaching max stacks, the player gains a level and all effects of Eternity are increased by 50%. The most significant change lies in the unique passive, Eternity, which now restores less mana and provides movement speed for two seconds.

Despite the changes, Rod of Ages will still be a popular choice for battle and DPS mages in teamfights. Examples of champions that will benefit from this item are Ryze, Annie, Swain, Aurelion Sol, Kassadin, and Anivia.
