Riot Games Releases New Lore for League of Legends Champions
Riot Games has released new lore for several champions in League of Legends with the aim of expanding and revamping the game’s lore universe.
In the first short story titled “The Echoes Left Behind,” readers get a glimpse of Kalista’s life before she became the marksman we all know. You can read the story here.
Kalista’s backstory is revealed through the perspective of Ledros, a former companion who betrayed her in life. Kalista seeks revenge on her betrayer even after death, and Ledros must sacrifice himself to free her from her chains.
Hecarim and Kalista’s biographies have been updated to reflect the new lore introduced in Kalista’s short story.
Zyra also received a short story titled “With the Flowers.” The story follows Hatilly, who buys an exotic plant that takes over her home and kills her husband. Zyra emerges from the plant’s vines and lures Hatilly into her trap. You can read the story here.
Darius is the final champion to receive a new short story called “The Winterspike Road.” The story follows Darius and his troops as they face avalanches and attacks in the Freljord. Despite the challenges, Darius leads his troops with the brusque nature of a true Noxian commander.
