Coach formerly of Evil Geniuses heads back to Brazil for upcoming 2023 League season

Former Evil Geniuses Head Coach Turtle Signs with Fluxo Esports

One of the key figures behind Evil Geniuses’ 2022 LCS Spring championship is making a return to Brazil. Gabriel “Turtle” Peixoto, the former head coach of Evil Geniuses’ League of Legends team, has signed with Fluxo Esports of the CBLOL as their head coach for the 2023 season, as reported by Luís Santana of Mais Esports.

Turtle’s Journey in the CBLOL and Coaching Success

Turtle, who previously played as a jungler in the CBLOL for three years, transitioned to coaching in 2019 with CNB e-Sports Club. In 2020, he led Vivo Keyd to the regular split title in Split 1. Now, Turtle takes on the role of head coach for Fluxo Esports, becoming their first-ever League of Legends head coach.

Evil Geniuses’ Eventful Year and Coaching Changes

Evil Geniuses had a rollercoaster year in the LCS, but it ultimately paid off. Turtle guided the team to an LCS title in the Spring Split, followed by a strong performance at the Mid-Season Invitational. During the Summer Split, Turtle moved to an assistant coach position as EG finished third and fought their way through Worlds Play-Ins, securing a historic win against MAD Lions. The team had to make adjustments when AD carry Danny took a break for mental health reasons and was replaced by Turkish backup Kaori, who is now reportedly joining Karmine Corp in Europe.

Peter Dun’s Potential Move to Team Heretics

Peter Dun, who served as EG’s head coach in 2021, might also be heading overseas to join Team Heretics, the newest organization in the LEC. Dun previously achieved success in Europe as he built a strong core for MAD Lions, which went on to win consecutive League titles in 2021 after he moved to North America.
