PSG.LGD introduces Ahjit as new carry player, Ame moves to CDEC

PSG.LGD Makes Shocking Roster Move: Ame Swapped for Ahjit

PSG.LGD, the Chinese Dota 2 giants, have made a surprising roster change. Wang “Ame” Chunyu has been traded to CDEC in exchange for Lai “Ahjit” Jay Son.

The decision to make changes to the roster was driven by PSG.LGD’s lackluster results in the 2019-20 Dota Pro Circuit season. The team failed to accumulate any DPC points, opting to take a break for the first Major before falling out in the second round of the open qualifiers for the Leipzig Major.

A tweet from LGD Gaming confirms the roster swap (https://twitter.com/LGDgaming/status/1225680686314508291).

Ahjit, who hails from Malaysia, has been a carry player on tier-two teams in Southeast Asia and China for years. He now faces the challenge of proving himself on one of the toughest teams, PSG.LGD.

While the decision to change Ame may not have been solely based on performance, PSG.LGD’s official announcement on Weibo mentioned that it respected the player’s decisions and need for personal development.

Chinese fans have expressed sympathy for Ame, considering him to be one of the best carries in China. Many believe he was one of the most consistent performers on the team.

Ame had a successful career with LGD, joining in 2016 and becoming a premier carry alongside Lu “Somnus” Yao. He played a crucial role in PSG.LGD’s Major championships and International podium finishes.

CDEC, a former academy offshoot of the LGD brand, will now have an internal rivalry with PSG.LGD. PSG.LGD will start from the bottom in the open qualifiers on Feb. 12, while CDEC awaits them in the closed qualifiers for the ESL One Los Angeles Major on Feb. 14.
