100 Thieves eliminated from LCS playoffs following defeat to Echo Fox

100 Thieves Eliminated from 2019 LCS Playoffs

After failing to secure a win in their fifth consecutive weekend, 100 Thieves can no longer qualify for the playoffs in the 2019 LCS Spring Split. This season has been a disappointment for a team that had high expectations with their revamped roster.

Lackluster Performance Against Echo Fox

100 Thieves ended week eight of the spring season with a lackluster performance against Echo Fox. Echo Fox dominated the match, controlling the map and preventing 100 Thieves from making any significant plays. The team’s attempts to coordinate plays were disjointed and confusing, which unfortunately was a recurring theme throughout the season.

Bitter Sweet Tweet

Following the loss, 100 Thieves took to Twitter to express their disappointment. The team recognized the challenges they faced this split and expressed their determination to improve and come back stronger for the Summer Split. [source]

Unfulfilled Potential

Many fans had high hopes for 100 Thieves, considering their strong performance in the previous season. The team bolstered their roster by signing experienced LCS player Choi “huhi” Jae-hyun and former world champion Bae “Bang” Jun-sik. However, the team failed to find the synergy needed to maximize the potential of their new additions.

Early on, it was evident that Huhi was not performing at his best, ranking as one of the lowest mid laners in the league. This was just one of the many struggles faced by the 100 Thieves roster throughout the season.

From Zaqueri “aphromoo” Black’s misplays to Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho and Andy “AnDa” Hoang’s inconsistent performance in the top lane, the team faced numerous challenges that led to their decline in the standings. In a season where they were expected to compete against the top teams in the league, 100 Thieves managed to win only four games.
