Winterfox’s roster swap takes the prize for most peculiar of the season

Winterfox Struggling in LCS: Roster Changes Ahead

This season has not gone as planned for Winterfox. The team, formerly known as Evil Geniuses, had high hopes for their League of Legends year after rebranding themselves in the offseason. However, with a 5-7 start to the League Championship Series (LCS), Winterfox is now searching for answers.

Winterfox made a surprising midseason roster move in response to their rocky start. Johnny “Altec” Ru, one of the team’s young stars, requested a move to the support position. Winterfox coach Choi “Paragon” Hyun-il will now take on the marksman role for the team. This decision has left the community in shock.

While Cheoi has experience playing marksman at a high level, moving Ru from the carry position to support seems like a risky move. Ru himself has stated that playing carry was stressing him out and that he believes he can contribute more as a support player. However, some experts have questioned the decision, noting that communication may be an issue since Ru is not a native English speaker.

Player Requests Roster Change

Ru’s desire to switch positions has led to this unexpected roster move. Winterfox confirmed the change in a post on Facebook, with support player Jang “Imagine” Hyeonsu moving to a substitute position.

Winterfox’s decision is puzzling to many, as Ru is considered a talented marksman. However, some of the best support players in North America and Europe were once marksman players, so Ru’s experience in the bottom lane may benefit the team.

Winterfox Looks to Turn Their Season Around

Winterfox recognizes the need for a change in their team dynamic and hopes that this roster move will help them achieve their goals for the future. Ryan Armendariz, the Winterfox player manager, states that further changes will be considered if the move does not provide the desired improvements. Ru will make his debut as a support player against first-place Team SoloMid on Saturday.

Winterfox’s performance in the coming weeks will determine if additional changes are necessary. The team is determined to climb up the LCS standings and contend for a spot in the playoffs.
