Spring 2019 Week 8 LEC Power Rankings

New Playoff Rankings in LEC: Origen, Splyce, and Vitality Tied

The rankings for the LEC playoffs have been shaken up after an intense week of games. Origen, Splyce, and Vitality are currently tied, making it difficult to predict which team will come out on top in a best-of-five playoff match.

Our voters tried their best to rank these three teams, but the competition is so close that they could really be placed in any order. Let’s take a look at the current rankings after week eight:

Teams to Watch in the Last Week of the Regular Season

Excel and Rogue have little hope for the playoffs, but there are some interesting developments in their gameplay. Rogue’s veteran roster is struggling, while Excel has made some bold roster moves that paid off in a recent win. Analysts have praised Excel’s top laner, Ki “Expect” Dae-han, for his exceptional performance.

Misfits, Schalke, and SK are in a tight race for the last playoff spot. Misfits, despite having experienced players, have been making questionable decisions in late-game situations. Schalke has been capitalizing on their mistakes, especially when their top laner, Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu, performs well. SK has also been in contention for the playoffs.

Top Contenders for the Playoffs: Origen, Splyce, Fnatic

The competition is fierce among Origen, Splyce, and Fnatic. G2, the current first seed, has been struggling with limited practice due to health issues. Fnatic, on the other hand, has won six consecutive matches but hasn’t faced tough opponents recently. Origen has a good chance to secure the second seed with their upcoming matches against Schalke and Excel.

Splyce, known for their strong late-game strategies, proved their skill against G2. Their vision and macro play have been exceptional, earning them a high rating.

Current Leaders: G2 and Vitality

G2, despite securing the first seed, has faced challenges due to support player Mikyx’s recurring wrist issues. Vitality, on the other hand, missed an opportunity to take the lead from G2. Their macro execution against G2 was poor, and they made questionable decisions. The playoffs will reveal if they can properly execute strategies and adapt when the split push doesn’t work.
