Rekkles is set to make a comeback at Fnatic

Fnatic Claims European Championship Title with Rookies

Fnatic, the European League Championship Series titleholder, emerged victorious on April 19 with a team consisting of four rookie players. This success came after the departure of star players from the previous season. One of those players, Martin “Rekkles” Larsson, is now returning to Fnatic.

A Record-breaking Transfer

Larsson’s move to rivals Elements (formerly known as Alliance) was one of the biggest transfers in European League of Legends history. Unfortunately, Larsson’s time with his new team did not go as well as expected. Elements finished in a disappointing seventh place. Larsson’s return to Fnatic presents a better opportunity for him to strive for championship glory.

Replacing Larsson

To fill the gap left by Larsson, Fnatic recruited Pierre “Steeelback” Medjaldi. Medjaldi, who had limited experience in Challenger-level tournaments, joined Fnatic as one of the four rookies in the offseason. Despite Fnatic winning the split, Medjaldi was considered by viewers and analysts as the least valuable member of the team. However, he maintained the second-highest KDA and GPM, proving his worth.

Medjaldi’s Final Tournament with Fnatic

Medjaldi will participate in the Mid Season Invitational with Fnatic, which will be his last event with the team. The tournament will feature matches against Team SoloMid, EDward Gaming, AHQ esports club, Besiktas esports club, and a team from South Korea that is yet to be confirmed. After the tournament, Larsson will take his place in Fnatic’s starting lineup for the Summer Split.
