Riot’s Project L Confirms All League of Legends Champions

Since Riot Games announced its development of a new fighting game based on League of Legends, fans of both MOBAs and fighting games have been eagerly awaiting more details about the unnamed title, codenamed Project L. One aspect that fans are particularly curious about is the roster of playable champions.

After the confirmation of Project L’s existence at Riot’s 10th-anniversary event, developers have already shared plenty of information about the game. According to project lead Tom Cannon, the game will be free-to-play and assist-based, with two champions per team.

“Our ultimate goal is to have a diverse and inclusive roster where everyone can find a champion that truly speaks to them,” said Project L gameplay design lead Shaun “UNCONKABLE!!!!” Rivera. “There are many considerations, including fight fantasy, theme, archetype, team synergy, race and ethnicity, personality, identity, and size.”

Riot has also revealed some gameplay footage and a few of the champions that fans can expect to see as playable characters. While the full roster is still unknown, it’s clear that any of the 164 champions from League of Legends could potentially join Project L.
