CLG Finds Victory Against Evil Geniuses in LCS Spring Split
CLG’s League of Legends roster has finally found success in the 2022 LCS Spring Split with a crucial win against a strong Evil Geniuses squad.
In the draft, CLG’s Thinkcard made strategic picks, securing Zeri and Yuumi for the team’s bottom lane. Luger, CLG’s AD carry, has been exceptional this season, and Zeri’s formidable gameplay has posed difficulties for many opponents. Combined with Yuumi’s healing and speed buffs, Zeri becomes virtually untouchable in the later stages of a game.
On the other side, EG chose Ryze and Nautilus as their primary crowd control champions to counter CLG’s mobile composition. However, they struggled to neutralize Zeri’s early weakness, allowing her to deal significant damage throughout the game.
Despite EG catching Zeri once with a well-executed Nautilus hook, CLG’s lead proved insurmountable during late-game skirmishes. Luger secured eight kills and seven assists, leading the server, while Contractz’s Viego contributed with six kills and five assists.
This victory marks CLG’s second consecutive win, giving them momentum and confidence as they strive for a more successful second half of the Spring Split. Although they currently have a 3-6 record and sit towards the bottom of the standings, defeating both TSM and EG is a significant step forward for the team.
EG, on the other hand, needs to regroup and adjust their strategies. The team was once considered a top contender for the LCS championship, but they have now suffered losses in three of their last five matches.
