League of Legends Worlds 2022 Semifinals: Perfect Pick’Ems in Jeopardy
The semifinals of the 2022 League of Legends World Championship are just around the corner, and the remaining players in the Pick’Ems challenge are taking a huge risk.
The eight players still in the running have chosen T1 and Gen.G as their picks to advance to the Worlds 2022 final by defeating JD Gaming and DRX respectively. An overwhelming 80% of players also selected these teams as the winners of their semifinal matchups.
If JDG or DRX come out on top in their series, there will be no perfect Pick’Ems this year, unless one of the remaining players changes their prediction before Saturday. Despite the popular picks, the series between the LPL champions and LCK’s second seed is expected to be closely fought.
Prior to the knockout stage, 23 players had a perfect Pick’Ems record. However, 15 of them slipped up at least once during the quarterfinals, missing out on the opportunity to secure perfect predictions and the ultimate skins in League.
Even if DRX or JDG emerge as the victors, the eight players should still earn enough points to secure a spot in the top 5,000 picks, granting them Azir and the Worlds 2022 skin for the champion.
The Worlds 2022 action continues tomorrow, Oct. 29, with the first best-of-five series between JDG and T1 starting at 4pm CT.
