Suning sweeps LGD to secure third place in LPL Summer Split

Suning Secures 3-0 Win Over LGD Gaming in LPL Summer Split

Suning finished their 2020 LPL Summer Split season in third place with a decisive 3-0 victory against LGD Gaming. Jungler Lê “SofM” Quang Duy stole the show in this League of Legends match, earning all three Player of the Game awards for his remarkable performance throughout the series. SofM played Lee Sin, Kayn, and Jarvan, seamlessly transitioning between supportive and carry-oriented roles. He led Suning to victory with a combined scoreline of 13/15/33.

The series started off strong for LGD, who gained a gold lead and maintained it for most of the game. At one point, they had a 10,000 gold advantage and victory seemed within their reach. However, Suning didn’t give up and continued farming and contesting objectives. Thanks to a miraculous play by SofM, Suning won a crucial fight and secured the first game of the series.

LGD struggled in the second game as SofM dominated on Kayn, creating early leads for his team across the map. Wherever ex-SKT jungler Peanut went, SofM was there to counter him. After demolishing LGD for over 30 minutes, Suning won the second game and reached match point.

The third game was intense for both teams. Suning was on the verge of victory, while LGD fought to reverse sweep the dominant squad. LGD initially secured early gold leads and appeared in control of the game. However, Suning turned the tide after obtaining their core items and grouping up. They consistently won team fights, leading to a game-ending teamfight after 28 minutes.

Suning’s Impressive Performance in LPL Summer Split

Suning has been part of the LPL since the 2017 Summer Split. While they have had a few top-four regular season finishes, they consistently struggled in the playoffs. This third-place finish marks their best performance since the organization was established, giving them a chance to compete in the Regional Qualifier.

In the Regional Finals, Suning will once again face LGD Gaming for a spot in the 2020 League World Championship. The Regional Finals will be held from Aug. 28 to 30, determining the last two Chinese teams to advance to Worlds as the region’s third and fourth seed.
