Cloud9 dominates Evil Geniuses in the 2020 LCS Summer Playoffs

Cloud9 Advances to LCS Summer Playoffs

Cloud9 has secured their spot in the playoffs and kept their dreams of competing in the League of Legends World Championship alive. They swept Evil Geniuses in a intense and bloody series in the 2020 LCS Summer Playoffs.

Game 1: C9 Outscale Their Opponents

The first game of the series was chaotic, with both teams accumulating numerous kills. Evil Geniuses managed to secure three Baron buffs but were unable to successfully siege C9’s base. As a result, C9 outlasted their opponents and secured the victory after a grueling 46 minutes.

C9’s Teamfight Advantage

Veteran top laner Huni performed well for Evil Geniuses in some of the games, but the team struggled to find success in the later stages of the matches. Though C9 had the upper hand in teamfights, they made some positional errors that could have been costly against stronger opponents like Team Liquid or FlyQuest. They should aim to improve their gameplay in the next series.

Worlds Berth Still Possible for C9

C9’s hopes of qualifying for Worlds are still alive, and they have time to refine their gameplay before facing the winner of TSM vs. Golden Guardians. They need to clean up their performance to increase their chances of advancing.

Evil Geniuses Facing Decisions for 2021

Evil Geniuses, on the other hand, have been eliminated from the playoffs and will need to make important decisions in the coming months. They have plenty of time to consider roster and staff adjustments for the 2021 season.
