League of Legends requirements upgraded to macOS 10.10 or higher

Riot Games to Update Supported macOS Version for League of Legends

Riot Games has announced that on Feb. 28, it will be changing the oldest version of macOS that League of Legends supports. The update will affect users with macOS 10.8.5, as the new minimum supported version will be macOS 10.10.

Although users with older versions of macOS will still be able to play League, they should be aware that the game experience may worsen over time. This is because Riot will no longer be making improvements specifically for these operating systems.

Reasons for the Change

Apple is no longer providing technical or security updates for macOS versions earlier than 10.12. Additionally, Chromium, the service that powers the League client, no longer supports macOS versions earlier than 10.10.

Impact and Solution

Less than 0.01 percent of players worldwide will be affected by this update. If you are one of them, simply update your macOS to version 10.10 or higher to ensure a smooth gaming experience.
