Kikis dominates with Pantheon to secure Rogue’s first LEC victory

Rogue’s First Win in the LEC

Rogue, playing in their debut season in the highest level of European League of Legends, had a rough start. They went nine games without a single win in the 2019 campaign. Even with the addition of Oskar “Vander” Bogdan as support, they struggled.

But on Saturday, when all hope was lost, Rogue turned the tides. Led by jungler Mateusz “Kikis” Szkudlarek’s unconventional champion pick, they gained an early advantage against Misfits and held on to it. Kikis secured first blood at just five minutes by counter-ganking the mid lane.

Ironically, the first blood happened in the same place where Kikis died in their previous game. However, this time, Misfits failed to execute their turret aggro properly, resulting in a kill that was crucial for Rogue’s Pantheon.

Misfits managed to stabilize the game through mid laner Fabian “Febiven” Diepstraten’s Ryze, their strongest asset. But when they knew Febiven was absent, Rogue took advantage and made their move.

Rogue’s well-executed flank with Pantheon’s ult allowed them to secure an uncontested Baron at 25 minutes. This came at a perfect time as Pantheon was reaching his scaling limit.

With the Baron, Kikis used Pantheon’s ult again to catch Misfits off guard, this time behind the inhibitor turrets. From there, Rogue easily pushed through Misfits’ base and claimed their first victory in the LEC. It was a day full of surprises in Europe, and the unpredictable Pantheon pick played a significant role in Rogue’s triumph.
