Panda Global ends partnership with Smash Bros. competitors Zain and Cosmos

Panda Global Parts Ways with Melee and Ultimate Players

Popular esports organization, Panda Global, has recently announced that it is parting ways with two of its players. Zain Naghmi, one of the top-ranked Melee players in the world, and Brian “Cosmos” Kalu, an Ultimate player, will no longer be with the team.

The decision to release Zain comes as a surprise, given his impressive ranking as the sixth-best Melee player. On the other hand, Cosmos’ departure is not unexpected, as his performance in major tournaments has been declining in recent times.

Shifting Focus in Starcraft 2 and Farewell Wishes

Panda Global has also made a move in the Starcraft 2 scene by parting ways with player Diego “Kelazhur” Schwimer. CEO Alan Bunney mentioned in a video that the team has appreciated the contribution of each player and wishes them well in their future endeavors. You can watch the video here.

Bunney expressed mixed feelings about parting ways with players, stating that while they are saddened by their departure, they are proud of their achievements and growth during their time with the organization. He believes that these players will continue to achieve great things in the future.

Reactions and Speculations

According to SmashBrosInsider, a reliable source in the Smash community, frustrations between Cosmos and Panda Global have been growing. This ultimately led to his release from the team before December.

One of Cosmos’ roommates, commentator Richard “Keitaro” King, initially denied the rumors. However, he later confirmed that Cosmos is now a free agent and wished Panda Global and his former teammates the best. You can read Keitaro’s tweets here and here.

Future Prospects for Zain and Cosmos

With Panda Global’s roster now consisting of only Justin “Plup” McGrath in Melee and Marss and Eric “ESAM” Lew in Smash Ultimate, it is highly likely that both Zain and Cosmos will sign with new teams soon. Their impressive performances and results make them valuable assets in the free agent market.
