Former Misfits top laner Irrelevant rumored to join SK Gaming for 2023 LEC Spring Split

New Home Found for Former Misfits LEC Roster Member

Joel “Irrelevant” Miro Scharoll, a former top laner for Misfits, has reached a verbal agreement to join the upcoming lineup of SK Gaming, as reported by Alejandro Gomis of Blix.gg. This move comes after Misfits exited the LEC and ERLs. Team Heretics will replace Misfits starting from the 2023 Spring Split and beyond.

Increased Budget and Big Players Targeted by SK Gaming

Gomis mentioned that Irrelevant received significant interest from several LEC teams but chose to finalize a verbal agreement with SK Gaming. This suggests that SK Gaming is investing more in its team for the 2023 LEC season. However, no official confirmation regarding Irrelevant’s move to SK has been provided yet.

Misfits’ Unexpected Success and SK Gaming’s Struggles

Irrelevant made his debut with Misfits during the summer of 2022, following his participation in the organization’s LFL team the previous year. Misfits surprised fans and players by defeating strong teams in the region and progressing to the LEC playoffs.

In contrast, SK Gaming faced difficulties throughout 2022. Despite a few surprising victories, the organization has struggled to make an impact on the LEC since its debut in 2019.

Looking Ahead

League of Legends fans can show their support for the LEC region at the 2022 World Championship as Rogue prepares to face JDG from the LPL in the quarterfinals in New York City. The 2023 LEC Spring Split is expected to commence early next year.
