Oh My God’s Gogoing, Loveling, and Cloud announce retirement

Three Legendary Players Retire from the League of Legends Scene in China

The League of Legends roster shakeup has begun in China, with three legendary players announcing their retirement. Gao “Gogoing” Di-Ping, Yin “LoveLing” Le, and Hu “Cloud” Zhen-Wei, who played for Oh My God, revealed their decisions on Weibo earlier today. This comes after a disappointing season and a failed qualification for the 2015 World Championship.

Oh My God faced difficulties integrating new marksman Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao into their playstyle throughout the season. Despite high expectations, Uzi’s debut split resulted in the team placing fifth-eighth after losing to LGD Gaming.

As a consequence, Gogoing, LoveLing, and Cloud were benched on May 20. While Gogoing and LoveLing returned to the starting lineup, Cloud remained on the bench for the rest of the season. These changes seemed to further burden the team, which finished seventh in both the regular season and playoffs after losing to Vici Gaming.

Gogoing and Cloud were considered among the best players in the region just a year ago, leading the team to the semifinals of the 2014 World Championship. However, they ultimately lost to rival Star Horn Royal Club. Many credit their remarkable individual performances for the team’s success.

It is still unclear who will replace these retired players, but Oh My God will have plenty of options during the upcoming off-season. If they stick with their current lineup, the positions will be filled by Hu “xiyang” Bin, Yan “juejue” Hong, and Liu “Amazing” Shi-Yu as backups.
