EDward Gaming Withdraws from IEM Katowice Due to Visa Issues
EDward Gaming (EDG) from the LPL has announced their withdrawal from IEM Katowice due to visa issues. The team took to their own weibo account to explain the problems they are facing. Unfortunately, they are unable to obtain visas for the players before the event. EDG apologizes to the event sponsors and fans and wishes for a successful event.
No replacement team has been announced yet for EDG at IEM Katowice. Cloud9 was the first team to drop out, choosing to participate in the NA LCS instead. It is speculated that I May or Royal Never Give Up may be the likely replacements. However, with Cloud9 being replaced by a European team, anything is possible.
