Beastcoast Dominates South American Qualifiers for MDL Chengdu Major
Beastcoast, the newly signed Dota 2 roster, is making waves in the South American qualifiers for the MDL Chengdu Major. The team has gone undefeated in the group stage, showcasing their dominance.
Steven “StingeR” Vargas and his stack, previously known as Team Anvorgesa and later Infamous, were already recognized as the strongest team in the region in the previous season. Now, they are solidifying their position at the top.
Out of the eight games played so far, only one has exceeded 32 minutes. Although the team had a shaky start in the tournament’s opening game, they quickly regained their strength and dominated their opponents, including the newly reformed Infamous roster.
The toughest match for Beastcoast came from NoPing e-sports, an all-Brazilian team. Despite a strong fight from NoPing, Beastcoast managed to secure victory in game one and had a firm grasp on game two. The organization’s reunion with former player Leonardo “Mandy” Viana created some tense moments.
Beastcoast continued their rampage, winning all six remaining games against Infamous, Team Unknown, and Luccini-Dilecom, securing the top seed in Group A and a spot in the playoffs. This also sets up a highly anticipated match with paiN Gaming.
It is highly likely that Beastcoast will keep their new roster in South America instead of bringing them to North America for further competition. This decision sets up intense battles between Beastcoast and paiN Gaming, two of the strongest teams in the relatively weaker South American region.
The MDL Chengdu Major offers three team slots for South America, making it possible for other teams like Team Unknown or Incubus Gaming to secure a spot if they continue to perform well.
The regional qualifiers for the first tournaments of the DPC season will conclude after another full day of competition. The Major spots and Minor tickets will be awarded based on the final results.
