One champion emerges as the sole pick and ban choice in the 2023 LEC Summer Season

The Unstoppable Milio: Dominating the 2023 LEC Summer Split

The 2023 LEC Summer Split concluded on July 3, marking the end of the first part of the season. Among the many champions in League of Legends, there is one that stands out with an impressive 100 percent pick and ban rate.

Milio, the newest addition to the game’s roster, made its debut on March 23 with Patch 13.6. Since then, Milio has captured the hearts of casual and professional players alike. In the 2023 LEC Summer Season, Milio had a 100 percent presence, being played in 17 games and banned in the remaining 28, as reported by statistics site Oracle’s Elixir.

Milio’s unique kit makes it a formidable support pick in the current meta. With healing and crowd control abilities, as well as an area-of-effect ultimate that heals and removes enemy crowd control, Milio is a flexible champion suitable for both aggressive and defensive team compositions.

Milio’s dominance extends beyond the LEC. In the 2023 LPL Summer Split, Milio is both the most picked and banned champion with a staggering 97.5 percent presence, according to Oracle’s Elixir. Similarly, Milio holds the top spot in the pick and ban standings in the 2023 LCK Summer Split with a 97.9 percent presence.

While it’s refreshing to see more diversity in champion picks with the addition of Milio, the question remains whether Riot Games will nerf this powerful champion. Milio has already received a few nerfs, including hotfixes in Patch 13.6 and minor changes in Patch 13.12.
