JDG Secures Spot in Quarterfinals of Worlds 2022 by Defeating EG

JD Gaming Advances to Knockout Stage with Convincing Victory over Evil Geniuses

Out of all the teams competing in the 2022 League of Legends World Championship, JD Gaming has emerged as the strongest contender for the Summoner’s Cup. With a perfect 3-0 record in the first week of the group stage, JDG continued their dominance by winning their first game of the second round robin against Evil Geniuses.

It took JDG only 25 minutes to dash EG’s hopes of a miracle run at Worlds. Despite EG’s earlier win against G2, JDG quickly reminded them of their last-place status in Group B. This victory solidified JDG’s spot in the knockout stage of the tournament.

In their previous match, EG kept it close against JDG, even securing a lead at the 18-minute mark before faltering in the late game. However, this time, EG fell behind early, allowing JDG to easily secure the win. JDG’s top laner, 369, applied constant pressure in the side lanes and accounted for 31 percent of the team’s total damage dealt to champions.

With their Nexus falling, EG faced a deficit of over 18,000 gold, making this one of the most one-sided games of the group stage so far.

EG’s Chances at Advancing Hanging by a Thread

EG’s loss to JDG has severely diminished their chances of advancing to the knockout stage. For EG to have any hope, DWG KIA must lose all three of their remaining games, while JDG must also defeat G2. EG’s fate is no longer in their own hands, and they would need a three-way tie between themselves, DWG KIA, and G2 to have a slim chance at progressing.

The Final Challenge for EG

EG will face their final group stage match against DWG KIA later today, where the outcome may determine their fate in the tournament.
