RNG, MAD Lions, and Pentanet.GG Emerge as Kill Leaders at MSI 2021 Group Stage

Royal Never Give Up, MAD Lions, and Pentanet.GG Lead the Kill Count at 2021 Mid-Season Invitational

The 2021 Mid-Season Invitational has been full of thrilling matches during the group stage. Fans of League of Legends around the world have been treated to action-packed games. At the end of this stage, three teams have stood out by accumulating the highest number of kills in the tournament so far. These teams are Royal Never Give Up from the LPL, MAD Lions from the LEC, and Pentanet.GG from the LCO.

Among all the teams, only these three have managed to achieve a triple-digit kill count. Royal Never Give Up, the champions of LPL, displayed their aggressive playstyle by constantly engaging in fights throughout their undefeated run in Group A. They went up against Pentanet.GG and Unicorns of Love from the LCL, and in their characteristic fashion, maintained high aggression in every game. According to Oracle’s Elixir, they secured a total of 184 kills across eight games. Their dominance was evident as most of their matches ended with a significant lead. They overwhelmed the two minor region teams with their firepower.

In Group B, MAD Lions faced tough challenges from PSG Talon, paiN Gaming, and the Istanbul Wildcats. Despite the competition, MAD Lions showcased exceptional decision-making and superior teamfighting skills to emerge as the top team in the group. They adhered to their aggressive and strategic playstyle, outplaying their opponents. As a result, they finished the group stage with an impressive 117 kills across six games. Additionally, MAD Lions had the second longest average game time among all MSI teams, with matches lasting around 33.3 minutes.

Pentanet.GG, representing the LCO, secured the third spot in the kill count leaderboard during the MSI group stage with 102 kills across nine matches. However, it’s important to consider the context of these numbers. They played the most games out of all the teams in the group stage. Moreover, they faced two aggressive teams in Royal Never Give Up and Unicorns of Love, who currently rank high in terms of average combined kills per minute at MSI. While Pentanet.GG displayed their eagerness to fight, they also ended the group stage with 140 total deaths, the second highest death count in the tournament.

Looking Ahead to the Rumble Stage

As the rumble stage begins, all eyes will be on these three teams to see if they maintain their aggressive playstyle or adopt a more calculated approach. It will be interesting to witness the level of engagement in the upcoming matches. The action continues on Friday, May 14, and fans won’t want to miss a moment of it.
