LCS Power Rankings: Post 2022 Lock In Tournament Analysis

The LCS 2022 Spring Split Power Rankings

The LCS is about to start its regular season after the preseason Lock In tournament. Although the Lock In games don’t count for long-term standings, they gave fans a taste of what’s to come in 2022. Some teams have yet to reveal their full potential as several LCS-level starters will make their debuts this weekend. With that in mind, here are our power rankings for the upcoming LCS Spring Split.

Starting at the bottom: Golden Guardians, FlyQuest

Golden Guardians and FlyQuest find themselves at the bottom of our rankings. Golden Guardians come in as a question mark because they couldn’t field their intended roster. However, with Licorice and Ablazeolive leading the team, they have the potential to surprise. FlyQuest, on the other hand, faces an uphill battle with aphromoo as the support. Although aphromoo is consistent, the team will need to prove themselves this year.

Show us more, please: CLG, Immortals

CLG exceeded expectations in the Lock In tournament, showing promise with strong performances from Luger and Contractz. Immortals, on the other hand, struggled to secure wins, raising questions about their chemistry and cohesion. Both teams have room for growth as they enter the Spring Split.

Playoff hopefuls: Dignitas, TSM

Dignitas surprised everyone in the Lock In tournament by defeating 100 Thieves. Their early momentum and strong performances from the entire roster bode well for the Spring Split. As for TSM, it’s difficult to assess them based on the Lock In since they fielded their Academy squad. However, the competition in the LCS is proving to be tougher than expected, which will challenge TSM.

Top-half contenders: 100 Thieves, Cloud9

Cloud9 faced visa issues in the Lock In, forcing them to play with substitutes. The upcoming weeks will reveal what we can expect from them. 100 Thieves, on the other hand, suffered a surprising loss to Dignitas. The pressure is on for both teams to live up to their championship expectations.

Unquestionably strong starts: Liquid, Evil Geniuses

Liquid and Evil Geniuses had strong starts in the Lock In tournament. Liquid showcased their potential with multiple carry threats and had impressive objective control. Evil Geniuses had an undefeated streak and showed promise with standout performances from Inspired, Jojopyun, and Danny. Both teams will be top contenders in the Spring Split.
