Potential Addition: MATUMBAMAN Reportedly In Talks with Team Secret

Is Team Secret Bringing in MATUMBAMAN?

Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen recently announced that he will be taking a break from competitive Dota 2 until the second Major of the 2019-20 season. However, it seems that he may have a big move in the works. A leak on Reddit suggests that MATUMBAMAN might be joining Team Secret.

Team Secret, led by Clement “Puppey” Ivanov, is always looking for ways to improve their team and secure another International title. MATUMBAMAN has been on Puppey’s radar since he was released by Team Liquid, so bringing him in would make a lot of sense.

Puppey has a policy of rotating players in and out of the lineup each season. With Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng having been part of the lineup since 2017, picking up MATUMBAMAN would inject new experience and strategy into the roster without disrupting the chemistry that led to a fourth-place finish at TI9.

While this potential move hasn’t been confirmed by any official sources, the Reddit user who posted the leak has accurately predicted previous Dota 2 roster moves. Until an official announcement is made, it remains unofficial.

Teams will be finalizing their rosters for the upcoming DPC qualifiers, but since MATUMBAMAN won’t be competing, the announcement of his potential acquisition by Team Secret may not be made until after the first Major.

Stay tuned for updates on this possible roster change!
