LEC Players to Return to Berlin Studio for Spring Split

According to sources close to , LEC players will finally be able to compete in the league’s Berlin studio next week. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the LEC was forced to switch to online production for the start of the 2022 Spring Split. However, Riot has now decided to bring the players back to the studio from the upcoming week onwards.

During the 2021 Summer Split, some players were able to return to the studio, but the majority of matches have been played remotely since the pandemic began. Please note that fans and press are still not allowed to return to the studio at this time.

It’s uncertain whether the LEC will permanently return to its offline format due to the ongoing pandemic. Nevertheless, many European League of Legends fans are delighted to see the league slowly returning to normalcy. Germany has made significant progress in vaccination, with 75 percent of its total population vaccinated according to Our World in Data.

In a report by on Jan. 13, it was mentioned that Riot originally planned to return to the studio in the current week (week four) of the 2022 LEC Spring Split. However, due to the current COVID situation, the schedule was affected and the league had to postpone the return to week five.
