League of Legends Introduces New Champion: Ivern, Friend of the Forest
Today, the official League of Legends YouTube channel released a teaser video for the newest champion added to the game by Riot Games.
In the teaser video, the new champion is introduced as “Ivern: Friend of the Forest.” The video shows a hunter trying to hunt a pack of sleeping wolf cubs, unaware that Ivern, a friendly tree-being, is there to protect them. Ivern snags the hunter with nearby vines and silences him by saying “shhh,” while keeping the baby wolves safe from harm. He also uses his magic abilities to grow grass around him and the puppies, hiding them from other hunters.
Although League of Legends already has a similar champion in terms of appearance (Maokai), Ivern seems to be much more friendly compared to Maokai.
Not much information is known about Ivern at this time, but it will be interesting to see if he will be competitively-viable after the 2016 World Championships.
