Excel Esports Welcomes YoungBuck as New Head Coach for League of Legends

Excel Esports Signs YoungBuck as Head Coach for 2020 Season

Excel Esports, following a lackluster debut year in the LEC, has made a significant move by signing Joey “YoungBuck” Steltenpool as their Head Coach for the upcoming 2020 season of League of Legends.

In the official team announcement, YoungBuck expressed his excitement, stating, “As a relatively new organization in the LEC, with talented young players, I believe this is the perfect opportunity for me to utilize my experience and skills in developing talent. My goal is to help Excel grow and become a dominant team in the LEC.”

YoungBuck’s Departure from Fnatic

YoungBuck recently departed from Fnatic, the perennial European champions, after revealing internal issues within the team throughout the year. Despite their qualification for the knockout stage at Worlds 2019, this year was not as successful as 2018 for Fnatic.

A New Beginning with Excel Esports

Joining Excel Esports, a team that struggled during its inaugural year in the league, YoungBuck brings his coaching talents and leadership to guide the team towards success in the upcoming year.

Potential Roster Changes for Excel

Excel’s current lineup may not have the strength to compete at the highest level of the LEC. Therefore, the team may make some roster changes in the coming months. With notable players hitting free agency, Excel will aim to make impactful signings before the 2020 Spring Split.
