LPL Players Exchange Porcelain Gifts with Players from Other Regions to Celebrate Year of the Tiger

Chinese League of Legends Players Send Lunar New Year Gifts to Rivals

The Lunar New Year, an important event in the Chinese calendar, is just around the corner. On Feb. 1, people from East Asia and Southeast Asia will come together to celebrate. To spread the joy, players from the LPL have sent gifts to their rivals across the seas.

In a video posted by the LPL, players representing the Chinese league sent good wishes to players from other regions. They sent special porcelain cups, resembling the blue and white Porcelain skin line that was released in League Patch 12.2.

The porcelain cups are decorated with tigers, symbolizing the Year of the Tiger.

EDG’s jungler JieJie sent a gift to G2’s Jankos, another popular player in his role. JieJie described the cup as representative of traditional Chinese craftsmanship and Chinese myths and legends.

At least one player from every major League region received a porcelain gift. DRX’s Deft and Nongshim RedForce’s Ghost received their Lunar New Year presents from EDG’s Meiko and Royal Never Give Up’s Wei, respectively.

There were also cases of world champions gifting each other. T1’s Faker received a shiny new cup from Top Esports’ JackeyLove. In the LCS, Team Liquid’s Bjergsen also received a cup, this time from RNG’s Xiaohu.
