Riot Games Accused of Using AI to Answer Player Reports
The League of Legends community has raised concerns after a player shared an alleged response from Riot Games that seemed to be generated by an AI. The incident has led to speculations that the company is using AI technology to handle reports and support tickets.
The Initial Response
A player posted their experience on Reddit, showcasing the alleged AI-generated response they received from Riot. The response stated, “At Character.AI we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all players.”
A Corrected Message
Shortly after the player’s post gained attention, Riot issued a rectified response replacing “Character.AI” with Riot while keeping the rest of the message the same.
Community Backlash
The Reddit user expressed their dissatisfaction with Riot’s use of AI without disclosure, acknowledging the repetitive nature of support tickets but finding the company’s actions disingenuous.
