Santorin Transferred to Ember Following Team Huma’s Financial Troubles

League of Legends Jungler Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer Larsen Joins Ember

Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer Larsen, one of Europe’s top Challenger junglers, will be returning to North America in an effort to qualify for the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS). Sources close to the player have confirmed that Larsen will be joining the North American Challenger team, Ember, in the coming weeks. Ember’s parent corporation, Team Elemental, Inc., has bought out Larsen’s contract from Team Huma.

Ember’s Current Jungler Replaced Due to Age Restriction

Larsen will be replacing Juan “Contractz” Garcia on Ember, as Garcia will be ineligible to compete in the promotion tournament due to age restrictions. In order to participate in the LCS, all team members must be 17 years old before the start of their first split. Unfortunately for Garcia, he will not turn 17 until later in the year.

Huma Sees Financial Issues, Initiates Changes to Roster and Staff

As a result of financial problems, Huma has been unable to afford hotels for playoffs in Berlin, visa fees for foreign players, and support staff. This has caused turmoil between the ownership and the management and players. Huma owner Behdad Jaafarian has released manager Karl “Dentist” Krey, head coach Kublai “Kubz” Barlas, and head analyst Jonathon “Kamikazplatypus” McDaniel.

Future of Huma Depends on Riot Games Investigation

The future of Huma is uncertain and depends on an ongoing investigation by Riot Games. The outcome of this investigation could benefit the players or enforce their contracts. Ember has declined to comment on this story.

Update 3:10pm CT, Feb. 27: Ember has officially announced that Larsen will be joining their team. This announcement indirectly confirms that Larsen previously had a deal with Immortals that fell through.
