The International 2019, the premier Dota 2 event, set a new record for viewership with over 1 million viewers watching OG’s victory over PSG.LGD on Twitch. This made OG the first team to win the tournament twice.

A Fan Takes Support to the Next Level

One dedicated OG fan in the Philippines went above and beyond to show his support for the team. He rented a billboard to celebrate their victory, displaying an edited version of a banner created by a Dota 2 tester and content creator, Wykrhm Reddy.

A Billboard for Champions

The fan, Jean Paul Julia, reached out to Reddy and obtained permission to use his banner on the billboard. Within three days, the billboard was up in Naga, featuring the players of OG in different poses. This is not the first time Julia has done something like this. After OG won The International 8 last year, he rented a smaller advertisement spot to show his support for them.

Philippine Esports Community Takes Notice

This act of support by Julia has gained attention within the Philippine esports community. Despite some challenges and controversies surrounding the industry in the country, esports in the Philippines continues to grow steadily.
