Tyler1 criticizes LCS protest, alleges NACL as sole haven for “money-grabbing impostors”

Tyler1 Criticizes the LCS Walkout and the NACL

Twitch streamer Tyler1 recently took aim at the ongoing LCS walkout, referring to the NACL as a “comfortable home” for “paycheck thieves.” According to Tyler1, these players do not deserve the salaries they receive and contribute nothing to the esports scene.

He supported Riot Games’ decision to no longer require LCS teams to participate in the NACL, citing its lack of viewership and the low skill level of its players. He also claimed that the NACL has caused organizations to lose money.

Contrary to the claims of those who support the walkout, Tyler1 believes that the NACL does not foster talent, but rather serves as a place for players to collect paychecks without doing much. He also pointed out that many NACL players are former professionals who are now earning an easy income.

The Role of the NACL and Minimum Wage Earnings

Tyler1 calculated that NACL players earn around $75,000 per year, which aligns with the minimum wage for League of Legends professionals. He argued that while LCS players contribute significantly to their organizations, NACL players only do the bare minimum to justify their salaries.

According to Tyler1, the NACL does not strengthen organizations or generate popularity. He contended that 90 percent of NACL players will never reach the LCS, and this fact is known by the players, coaches, and everyone involved.

Tyler1 suggested that Riot’s decision to end mandatory NACL participation was the logical choice. However, he would support the league if it primarily consisted of promising young players who had a chance to be promoted to the LCS.

Viewership and Controversy

Tyler1 pointed out that the NACL struggles to attract viewers compared to the LCS, further bolstering his argument against the league’s significance. He expressed his satisfaction with Riot’s decision to abolish mandatory NACL participation.

This perspective goes against the majority opinion in the esports community, making it a controversial statement.
