Starting Jungle Player Suspended by Team Liquid

Team Liquid Suspends Starting Jungler Dardoch for LCS

Team Liquid has announced the suspension of starting jungler Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett for the first two weeks of LCS due to insubordination. The decision was made on May 18, just a week before the start of the 2016 LCS Summer Split and after the team’s bootcamp in Korea. Despite attempts to resolve the issues with a sports psychologist, reconciliation was not possible.

According to Team Liquid owner Steve Arhancet, Dardoch has been suspended since May 18, 2016, for behavioral issues, specifically insubordination. In a statement, Arhancet explained the reasons behind the suspension.

Liquid coach Yoonsup “Locodoco” Choi mentioned that starting the season this way might surprise some fans. However, he emphasized the team’s commitment to working together as a unit and achieving success through teamwork and effort.

Dardoch made a name for himself during his rookie LCS split, achieving impressive stats such as a 5.7 kill-death-assist ratio and a 78 percent kill participation, ranking second best in North America. He was recognized as the “MVP of the Week” twice during the Spring Split and was named “Rookie of the Split” by the league. However, Dardoch also gained attention for his provocative trash talk and his resemblance to a typical Twitch chat user.

Team Liquid has announced that they will do their best to facilitate Dardoch’s transfer to another team so that he can continue playing. Dardoch has expressed his intention to share his opinion on the situation at a later time.

It is expected that Galen “Moon” Holgate, who is currently listed as the team’s substitute with Riot, will take over as the jungler for the time being.
