Ashe, Kayle, and Pantheon Receive Nerfs in League Patch 9.22

League of Legends Patch 9.22: Champions Getting Buffed or Nerfed

The upcoming League of Legends Patch 9.22 will bring changes to several champions, as revealed in the preview. Let’s take a look at the champions getting buffed or nerfed:

Buffed Champions

  • Kalista
  • Sejuani
  • Sylas

Nerfed Champions

  • Ashe
  • Blitzcrank
  • Kai’Sa
  • Kayle
  • Malphite AP
  • Nautilus
  • Pantheon
  • Xayah

It’s not surprising that these specific champions are being targeted for nerfs. They have been dominating in ranked games according to League stats. For example, Kayle has the highest pick rate overall at 11 percent, while Ashe has the highest pick rate (17 percent) and win rate (54.20 percent) at Platinum level and above.

Malphite mid and Kai’Sa are also performing exceptionally well in the current meta, with high pick and win rates. On the other hand, the three champions getting buffed (Sejuani, Kalista, and Sylas) desperately need it, as they have low pick rates (below two percent) and win rates (below 50 percent).

These changes may indicate a shift in the meta for the upcoming months of League of Legends‘ preseason. Additionally, Patch 9.22 will mark the end of the first ranked season in TFT.
