“I’ve never reached Bronze,” admits CoreJJ upon Iron placement

Team Liquid’s Support CoreJJ Placed in Iron Division After Placement Matches in NA

Team Liquid’s recent acquisition of former Gen.G support Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in was meant to solidify their already star-studded roster and bring them international success. However, after completing his placement matches, CoreJJ found himself placed in the Iron division with only 65 LP, which is lower than Bronze in the North American region.

CoreJJ’s reaction to this placement is quite amusing. Initially, he seems to be confused about what happened. But as he realizes the situation, he slumps and quietly mutters, “I’ve never even been Bronze.”

This placement is even lower than Bronze for CoreJJ, despite winning all 10 of his placement games. This highlights the issues with League’s placement system in the preseason, as other professional players have also complained about being placed unreasonably low. In recent games, CoreJJ has been matched with Platinum and Diamond players, indicating that his matchmaking rating (MMR) is significantly different from his rank.

On top of these placement issues, the criticism of North America’s solo queue environment continues. Professional players and coaches have made jokes at the region’s expense. Korean top laner Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon caused a stir when he expressed that the high ping in NA made practice impossible. Additionally, jungler Lee “Rush” Yoon-jae, who has returned with Echo Fox, famously complained that playing in NA was “depressing.”

Hopefully, Riot Games will address these issues so that CoreJJ can quickly climb out of Bronze and reach his true skill level.
