Only 2 champions maintain a 100 percent pick-ban rate in Worlds 2022.

Kalista and Aatrox Dominate 2022 League of Legends Worlds Play-In Stage

The ongoing 2022 League of Legends World Championship has already witnessed the selection of 42 champions in the play-in stage. Among these picks, only two champions, Kalista and Aatrox, have maintained a 100 percent pick-ban rate over eight games.

Kalista, known as the Spear of Vengeance, has gained popularity among top-tier AD carries due to her unique auto-attack animation and high damage output with her ability, Rend. She is also valuable for engaging with her support using her ultimate ability, Fate’s Call.

Despite being picked only once, Kalista made a significant impact when played by Fnatic’s AD carry Upset. He secured nine kills and two assists without dying a single time, according to Oracle’s Elixir. It is likely that Kalista will continue to be prioritized and banned throughout the event.

In contrast, Aatrox, known as Runeterra’s resident World Ender, has been played four times and lost only once. Aatrox is favored by players who desire a bruiser-like champion capable of dealing high damage and healing simultaneously. Fnatic’s Wunder, MAD Lions’ Armut, DetonatioN FocusMe’s Evi, and DRX’s Kingen have all represented Aatrox in the tournament.

Despite his modest statistics so far, with four kills, 23 assists, and 17 deaths in four games, Aatrox remains a priority for teams due to his potential when in the hands of skilled top laners.

Stay tuned for more thrilling matches as the play-in stage continues at 3pm CT.
