T1 Sweeps Kwangdong Freecs in Impressive Opening Series of 2022 LCK Spring Split

T1, the reigning champions of League of Legends, made no changes to their starting roster for the new year. And in their first series of the 2022 LCK Spring Split, T1 showed why they are still a formidable team. They confidently defeated Kwangdong Freecs 2-0, further solidifying their position on ‘ global power rankings.

Despite the efforts of former T1 AD carry Teddy and his new team, T1’s aggression led to a slow start in the best-of-three series. The two sides traded blows for the first 30 minutes, but it was T1 who ultimately came out on top.

At around the 33-minute mark, T1 took control of the Baron, but Kwangdong Freecs didn’t back down. However, three minutes later, T1 secured the Elder Dragon, scored an ace, and pushed through the mid lane to destroy the Nexus, securing their victory.

In game two, Teddy had another chance to defeat his former team and secure his first win of the 2022 season. However, T1 displayed pure domination throughout the game.

Despite some issues in the jungle for Oner, he made an impressive comeback and helped his duo in the bottom lane take the lead with a successful dive under Kwangdong Freecs’ turret. From that point on, it was clear that T1 had complete control of the game. They easily won subsequent skirmishes and objectives, leaving Kwangdong Freecs unable to respond.
