League of Legends Champion Singed Still Waiting for New Skin
In a surprising turn of events, it has been 1,000 days since Singed, a popular champion in League of Legends, received a new skin. Despite Riot Games introducing the Spirit Blossom cosmetic line featuring skins for popular champions, fans are disappointed that lesser-played champs like Singed have been overlooked.
The previous skin released for Singed was the Beekeeper skin on October 11, 2017. This skin featured dynamic animations that replaced his toxic clouds with honey.
Compared to other champions, Singed has a relatively large number of skins with a total of nine. However, champions like Kindred and Ornn have only two and one unique skins respectively, making fans of these champions even more frustrated.
The lack of new Singed skins is likely due to his lower popularity among players. Additionally, his unique ability to produce a lingering cloud effect may present challenges for animating new skins.
But Singed is not the only champion that has been overlooked. Ornn, who was released in 2017, has also not received a new skin since then. Players are concerned that champions like Elise and Viktor may soon join the 1,000-day club without any new skins.
Riot Games has faced criticism in the past for favoring certain champions when it comes to cosmetic updates. Champions like Ezreal, Miss Fortune, Malphite, Alistar, and Lux seem to receive new skins almost every year, while others are left waiting. In fact, Miss Fortune currently holds the record for the most skins in the game with a total of 14.
Earlier this year, Riot Games announced plans to release more than 120 new skins for League of Legends in 2020. Hopefully, this means that champions like Singed will finally get the attention they deserve.
