Riot is currently experimenting with significant Swain adjustments on League’s PBE

Swain Receives Buffs and Nerfs in Upcoming League of Legends Patch

The next patch of League of Legends will focus on changes to the champion Swain. Despite a rework in 2018, Swain has struggled to find success in competitive play and solo queue. To address this, Riot Games has made several adjustments to Swain’s abilities on the Public Beta Environment (PBE).

Swain’s Standing and Targeted Abilities

In recent patches, Swain has remained stagnant in terms of win rate, hovering around 50 percent. In the next patch, Riot plans to address this by targeting Swain’s passive ability, Ravenous Flock, as well as his abilities Death’s Hand (Q), Vision of Empire (W), and Nevermore (E).

Buffs and Nerfs

Swain will receive several buffs in the upcoming patch. His Q ability, Death’s Hand, will have a reduced cooldown and will now pass through champions. The range of his W ability, Vision of Empire, will be doubled, granting Swain more map presence. Additionally, the mana cost of his W and E abilities will be lowered.

These buffs aim to make Swain a more versatile champion, providing players with more options in laning phase and teamfights. The increased range of his W ability will particularly enhance his impact in side lanes and across the entire map if he remains in the mid lane.

In order to maintain balance, Riot has also implemented a few nerfs to Swain. His movement speed has been reduced and his passive ability’s cooldown has been adjusted. Additionally, Swain’s W ability will deal less damage.

These nerfs are aimed at limiting the power of lower-ranking Swain players, as they tend to hit abilities more frequently and gain more mana as a result. However, the buffs to Swain’s W and E mana costs will help compensate for this nerf.

Expected Release and Impact

If all goes according to plan, these Swain changes will be live in League Patch 10.15, set for release on Wednesday, July 22.
