Splyce ensures their season continues in the EU LCS

Splyce’s Struggle and Redemption in EU LCS Summer Split

Splyce had a rough start to the 2018 EU LCS Summer Split, going 0-4 in the first two weeks. It seemed like they had never played together before, despite their previous success in the Spring Split.

Week three was a pivotal moment for Splyce. After losing to G2, Fnatic, and Misfits, they faced two weaker teams to potentially turn their season around and secure a spot in the playoffs. Despite some challenges, they managed to pull off a clean week, giving themselves another shot at success.

However, the matches themselves were far from clean. In the game against ROCCAT, a mistaken call gave ROCCAT an inhibitor and a Baron buff. But Splyce didn’t let that setback discourage them. They fought their way back and secured a convincing teamfight victory as ROCCAT attempted to retreat.

After their strong comeback, Splyce took control of the map and focused on objectives. Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu, who had been struggling previously, delivered an outstanding performance on the old Aatrox. Even when ROCCAT managed to kill him, Splyce’s map control allowed them to secure important objectives elsewhere.

The other matches on Saturday went mostly in favor of the stronger teams. Misfits and Fnatic both won convincingly against H2k and GIANTS respectively, solidifying their positions at the top of the region. Vitality also emerged victorious against FC Schalke 04, securing their place in the top four. G2’s match against Unicorns of Love was yet to be played.

Currently, G2, Misfits, Fnatic, and Vitality are the top four teams in the region. However, there are still many matches left in the split. Splyce’s victory on Saturday was crucial for their chances at making it to the playoffs as well as their mindset heading into Rift Rivals next week.
