Riot’s Upcoming Mini Patch to Focus on Balance – Pyke, Karthus, and Presence of Mind Set for Nerfs

Riot recently announced that they have almost finalized the champion and rune nerfs for Patch 8.24. Today, on the official League of Legends forums, they provided more information on what we can expect after Patch 8.24.

The list of nerfs revealed yesterday was filled entirely with nerfs, and today’s list is no different. Riot has planned a mini patch called Patch 8.24b, which will focus solely on balance. This patch will bring nerfs to many champions, including Pyke and Karthus, as well as some runes. Two runes that have been particularly popular recently, Presence of Mind and Absolute Focus, will also be nerfed.

This patch structure is similar to what Riot did in last year’s pre-season with Patch 7.24b, which was dedicated to balancing the game after the introduction of a new rune structure. While this year’s pre-season changes are not as extreme, it is still important to address any outliers caused by these changes. Pyke and Karthus have been dominant in their respective roles, with Pyke excelling in the mid lane and Karthus being played primarily in the bot lane.

Dark Harvest, which has already received two nerfs in a hotfix this pre-season, will also be targeted for a nerf in Patch 8.24. We can expect Patch 8.24b to arrive two weeks after that, although pre-season plans are always subject to change.
